Obituary

David Murray Garrison, age 74, of Springfield, MO passed away in his home Friday morning, September 2, 2016.

Mr. Garrison was born March 1, 1942 in St. Louis Missouri. He was a graduate of Culver Military Academy and Southern Methodist University. After receiving his degree in mechanical engineering, he worked for Ralston Purina Corp. Later, he worked as a real estate agent and served many years as vice president and broker for Carol Jones Realtors. After retiring from his position, he continued on at Carol Jones as tour coordinator, advisor and educator for many new and upcoming, as well as seasoned agents.

Mr. Garrison was a patriarch to a wide circle of friends and family, and would answer to a variety of names; Dave, Davie, Garrison, Uncle Dave, Paht-ner, Garson, Dad, and Grandpa. He was a kind and loving man whose generosity had no bounds. He was a friend to all who met him, and never knew a stranger. He was humble, happy and honest. He truly believed that life was meant to be fun and he lived it to the fullest up until his very last moment.

Mr. Garrison is survived by his wife of 28 years, Jean (Piper) Garrison, one sister Ginny and her husband Keith Smith of Farmington, four children: Wendy Garrison and friend Calvin Holden of Springfield, Kenny Garrison and wife Karen of Branson, Kathy and husband Greg Wilmoth of Mount Vernon, and Steve Nicholson of Springfield, 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and many other family and friends.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held, Tuesday September 6, 2016 at 3:00 pm, Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, 1947 East Seminole, Springfield, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be sent to Women In Need of the Ozarks, PO Box 4626, Springfield, MO 65808.
