David Ray Cox, 60 years of age, of Nixa, Missouri went to be with our Lord and Savior August 30, 2016 from complications of diabetes. He was born April 15, 1956 in Hannibal, Missouri to Martha Cumi and Ira William Cox, Jr. They preceded him in death.

David married his love, Charlotte Gilbert June 23, 1984. They were blessed with three children Kayleigh Marie, Kelli Rae and Cody Wayne. Survivors include his wife Charlotte, daughters Kayleigh Powers and her significant other Chad Oyer; and her children Ava and Alexis Powers of Nixa, MO; Kelli and her spouse Adam Hantle and their children Austin and Lilli Hantle of Nixa, MO; Cody and his significant other Emily Fink and their daughter Peyton Elizabeth of Ballwin, MO.

Siblings include Charles Cox who preceded him in death; Cheryl Norvell of Louisiana, MO; Karen and her spouse Jeff Hill of Battlefield, MO; Ira W. and his wife Wanda Cox of Desloge, MO; Kathy and her spouse Bruce Pearl of Middletown, MO. Other survivors include Charles and Kitty Sparks of Clarksville, MO as well as numerous extended families, cousins, nieces and nephews.

David Cox initially was a Wal-Mart Assistant Manager opening stores across the Midwest during the '70s. However, his career in Para medicine spanned over 25 years working in various service areas across the state providing emergency medical care.

David enjoyed the outdoors as an avid hunter, camper and fisherman. He tagged numerous deer and had mounted the trophies along with a story to tell. His family learned to appreciate his love for the outdoors. In addition, he mastered skills in photography and all that nature provided for enjoyment. His love of family was the priority of his life providing guidance, nurturing and love to all which is rooted in Jesus Christ. During the past year, God impressed upon him the importance of God's sovereignty over all the world and universe and His Holiness to pass along to this to others he came into contact with.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 12 noon, followed by a chapel service beginning at Noon on Friday,  September 2,  2016 in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery Louisiana, Missouri at a later date.
