David E. Cheek age 55 of Springfield, Mo. passed away early Tuesday morning November 15, 2011. He passed away at home with several family members and a Hospice Nurse present. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Davenport, Iowa and has several friends and family that remain in that area. He was preceded in death by his father, Oren W. Cheek; sister, Connie Cheek; maternal grandparents, Iva and Effice Anglen; and paternal grandparents, Allen and Anna Cheek. He is survived by his son, Jeremy Cheek of Davenport, IA; mother, Irene Cheek Campbell of Springfield; four sisters and brothers-in-laws, Linda and Jim Weaver, Bonnie and Larry Boyd, Marsha and Ken Miller, Karen Rios and Dick Mustain, all from the Springfield area; one aunt, Thelma Jones of Davenport; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 10AM on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at the Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Reverend Ty Harmon will be officiating under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral service from 9-9:45 AM Saturday at the funeral home. Burial and graveside service will be at Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery outside of Conway, Missouri.
