Darla Denise (Berry) Jackson received her Heavenly wings on June 17, 2024 after a long battle with health complications.
Darla Berry was born May 31, 1959 in Springfield, Missouri the fourth child and only girl born to Charles and Wanda (Carlock) Berry who preceded her in death.
Darla was a beautiful soul inside and out. She made lifelong friends and lived a very charmed life.
Darla fell in love and married world-renowned blues singer Norman Jackson, their loved endured until his passing on April 12, 2020.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles Berry, Fr. Moses Berry, Gary Berry and Kyle Berry. Surviving siblings are Keith Berry; sisters-in-law, Madgelana Berry, Betty Berry as well as three other sisters-in-law.
Her children carry her close to their hearts, daughter, Karla Berry; son, Norman Jackson; daughter, Shaniece Alton and deceased daughter, Deja Jackson; as well as five wonderful step-children. Darla was blessed with six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She also had nine nieces and nephews with four great-nephews and one great-niece.
Mom was a bright light and touched the lives of all who knew her. She had a host of friends and family from Jefferson City, Springfield and Springfield Rehabilitation Center who she absolutely adored.

Visitation and viewing will be Saturday, June 22, 2024 from 10 am to 12pm at Gorman Scharpf Funeral Home. A private family burial will be in Holy Resurrection Cemetery, Ash Grove, Missouri.
