IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Darian Lee
Jobe
May 16, 1938 – January 31, 2025
Darian Lee Jobe, 86 of Springfield ran to the arms of his Heavenly Father then straight to his wife's arms on Friday, January 31, 2025 at The Fremont.
He was born in Midland, Texas on May 16, 1938 to Richard Lee and Effie D. (Bagley) Jobe and was preceded in death by all his siblings, Troy and Olle Jobe, Tylene McPheeters Zumwalt and Dee Beckley.
He married Kay Janes Brummell on June 14, 1959 in Bolivar, Missouri and they spent 60 years together before her passing on September 6, 2019. They were not just companions but wonderful business partners. They owned and operated Springfield Seed and Floral, Inc. for over 40 years. They also adopted two daughters and Darian often referred lovingly to "his girls", which included Kay, Robin and Randa. He was a longtime Baptist and belonged to Second Baptist Church. He was also active in Watoto ministries. Darian and Kay volunteered, traveled and supported this ministry for many years.
Darian is survived by the two daughters he chose, Robin Jobe Hall (Dr. Bryan Hall) and Randa Jobe Cowen (Tracy Cowen); seven grandchildren, Robby Jacobs (Mandy), Cody Jacobs (Avery), Hunter Hall, Karlee Hall, Kendall Hall, Kate Cowen Foster (Brad), and Joshua Cowen; six great-grandchildren, Kaleb and Kolton Jacobs, Jayce, Grey and Clay Foster, and Harper Jacobs, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service with full military honors will be Friday, February 7, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Missouri Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, February 6, 2025 from 5-7 pm at Gorman Scharpf Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations to Watoto (www.watoto.com) or Alzheimer's Association.
Today is not a day to be sad but rejoice that Darian is in Heaven with one of his girls. He was a kind, gentle, and extraordinary man who loved his family. They feel lucky to have known a love like his and will cherish him in their hearts always.
