Each person is unique, but Daphn was truly special. April 29, 1960, she started out life 3 months early, weighing 4.05 lbs. There were no neonatal units then, only one nurse and a rocking chair. She came home in a shoe box, dressed in doll clothes because premature babies didn't usually survive. She was 4.06 pounds of grit and determination that carried through her entire life. She is survived by her loving husband, David Roper; her father, Dr. Frank Sundstrom and wife Patricia; sisters; Janet Morris and Wendy and her husband Bob Kollmeier; nieces and nephews, Marcus Hannah, Ean and wife Lynn Hannah, Heidi Hannah, Chip Morris and Chelsey Kollmeier. Preceeded in death was her mother, Elizabeth Sundstrom and sister Susie Hannah. David's family includes his mother, Lois Roper; father, James and wife Donna Roper; sisters and brothers, Scarlett Roper and husband Terry Muskopf, Doug and wife Patty Roper, and Rick and wife Nicole Roper; nieces and nephews, Jon and Jeremy Roper, Matt and Nicole Roper; also her furry family that gave her such rich comfort and companionship, Ava, Andi, Joey, Penny, and Sofie. Daphn attended Greenwood High school, attended Missouri University, and was a graduate of St. Johns School of Radiology. She worked at Clarke Orthopedic Clinic for 18 years. Daphn married David Roper on June 4th, 1993. She has blessed so many lives and will be missed by both family and friends. Funeral arrangements are in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, at 2 p.m., on Monday.
