In Loving Memory of

Danny Ray Ruffin

February 19, 1943 - June 24, 2025

Today we gather with love and remembrance to celebrate the life of Danny Ray Ruffin, a man who brought laughter, music, and steady kindness into the lives of everyone he met.

Born on February 19, 1943, in Springfield Mo, Danny was the son of Charlie Ruffin and Ester Keys. He was raised in a home that valued family, faith, and strength of character—qualities he carried with him throughout his life. On June 24, 2025, Danny peacefully passed from this life, joining in eternal rest his parents, his brother Jack Ruffin, his sister Karen Gordon, and his beloved daughter Crystal Renee Ruffin.

Danny had a joyful spirit. He loved to laugh, and perhaps more than anything, music brought happiness to his heart. It was rare to spend time with him without hearing the sounds of classic country drifting through the air—especially the voice of George Jones, who could be heard from morning until night in Danny's home. That music, along with Danny's steady presence and sense of humor, created memories his family will carry forever.

He is survived by his brother Gary Ruffin of Hendersonville, Tennessee, and his half-sister Velma Steed of Washington state, who shared a special place in his heart.

Danny also leaves behind his children:

•    Cheryl DeGraffenreid – Jefferson City, Missouri

•    Cynthia Cox (husband Larry Cox) – Battlefield, Missouri

•    Tammy Skidmore (husband Ryan Skidmore) – Dallas, Texas

•    Michael Ruffin – Jacksonville, Florida

•    Steven Eugene Ruffin – Springfield, Missouri

He was a proud grandfather to 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, each of whom carries forward a piece of his story.

Danny wasn't a man who needed to be in the spotlight. He found his joy in life's simple pleasures: family, music, and the moments of laughter that tie us together. He taught us that you don't need riches to live richly—you just need love, loyalty, and a good song playing in the background.

As we say goodbye, we hold tightly to the memories that will always remain. The music of his life plays on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Rest peacefully, Danny Ray Ruffin. Your voice, your laughter, and your spirit will echo in our lives forever.
