Danny L. Baucum, 88, Springfield, went to be with the Lord on February 22, 2022 following a long illness.

He was born June 23, 1934 in Silsbee, Texas, to Macell Knight and Ernest Baucum.  After graduation, he joined the US Air Force in 1954.  While stationed at Smokey Hill AFB in Salina, Kansas, he met the love of his life, Coral F. Fuller.  They were married February 9, 1956 and were married for 63 years.  They moved to Springfield where Danny worked for the Federal Medical Center in Springfield, retiring in 1984.  He was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church, where along with Coral, they cooked Wednesday night meals.  They were also volunteers at Mercy Hospital in Springfield doing various jobs.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Coral.

Danny is survived by three children, Anita C. (Baucum) Edwards and husband, Buck, Warrensburg, MO, Douglas N. Baucum, Wellington, CO, and Shawna L. (Baucum) Godsy, Springfield; seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 26, 2022 in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.  Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.  Private family burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
