Obituary

Daniel C. Rominger, 76 of Springfield passed away at 10:13 pm Friday, April 5, 2019 in his home after a long struggle with cancer.  He was surrounded by family.

He was born October 26, 1942 in Woodland, California.  He wed his wife, Yvonne D. Sandwell on October 21, 1961 and remained married until his passing for 57 years.

After graduating from high school,  he joined the California Maritime Academy but ultimately joined the Air Force where he would enjoy a 21 year career of dedicated service.  After he retired, Dan enjoyed traveling, volunteer work and spending time with friends and family.

He was a member of Air Force Retirees, Southside Senior Center where he delivered meals to home bound members, American Cancer Society  where he drove patients to appointments and the Missouri VFW.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon Fredrick Rominger and Esther Marguerite Jones Rominger and a brother, James Rominger.

Dan is survived by his wife, Yvonne D. Rominger of the home; a daughter, Dori Lynn Rominger of Springfield, MO; a son, Phillip S. Rominger and his wife, Rebecca O. Rominger of Overland Park, KS; a son, Thomas D. Rominger of Laval, Montreal, Canada; two brothers, Neil Rominger of Fulsom, California and Lee Rominger of Sacramento, California; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Private family graveside services with full military honors will be in Springfield National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2926 E. Battlefield Road, Springfield, Missouri 65804.
