IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Daniel Robert
Revella
January 6, 1934 – April 13, 2021
Daniel Robert Revella January 6, 1934-April 13, 2021
Daniel Revella was born in his beloved hometown of Schenectady, New York on January 1, 1934. Born to first generation Italian American parents and descended from four grandparents who immigrated to Ellis Island from southern Italy.
Dan lived a wonderful life, in fact the American dream. He loved music and learned to play saxophone and clarinet. He played professionally while in high school and college helping to make ends meet and enjoying it every step of the way. He attended Siena College as a member of the ROTC program which helped pay his expenses. He graduated in 1955 as the first member of his family to ever attend College and as an officer in the U.S. Army. Later that year he married his high school sweetheart and love of his life Patricia Pugliese. Dan and Patricia began their 56-year journey with a tour of duty in Tokyo, Japan, treasuring the experience and the friends they met for a lifetime. While in Japan they began their family with the birth of their first son Robert. One year later they were stateside, back to Schenectady where their second son Gerald was soon born.
Dan was then recruited by Johnson & Johnson to enter their management training program in New Brunswick, New Jersey. In 1960 this was the equivalent of an MBA and propelled Dan's career to great heights. Dan, with his young family, experienced tremendous success in the corporate world with a succession of promotions each one leading to new responsibility new cities and more friends, and the families in Schenectady were cheering for, and reveling in, every part of his success.
In 1972, in his role as Director of Manufacturing for the French's Mustard Co., Dan was asked to relocate him and his family to Springfield, Missouri. There he would plan, build, staff and manage a new plant. This began his love affair with the Ozarks and Springfield which he came to love as much as his beloved Schenectady, NY.
Dan was a loving, kind and gentle man. And throughout it all his family was the most important thing in his life. He cherished his wife Patricia and his two sons Bob and Gerry, providing unconditional love, support and guidance along the way. And later his daughters in law, and grandchildren were the focus of his attention. If only his health would have allowed him to better know his great grandchildren Hadley and Harper Allen.
Dan died peacefully in his bed April 13, 2021.
Dan was preceded in death by his loving wife and best friend, Patricia Ann Revella who passed on December 16, 2010 in Springfield, Missouri. Surviving Dan are his son Gerald Revella and daughter- in- law Renee Revella of Springfield, Missouri. His son Robert Revella and daughter in law Laura Revella of Tulsa, Oklahoma. His Granddaughter Nicole Revella Allen and husband Grant Allen and their children Hadley Hazel Allen and Harper Rose Allen, Tulsa, Oklahoma. His Grandson Michael Revella, Kansas City, Missouri and his granddaughter Madalyn Revella Kanady and husband Eric Kanady of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
In all of us the memory a wonderful, kind and gentle man will live on.
