Dan passed away on June 24, 2026 at 6:00 PM at the age of 64. He was born October 29, 1961 in Springfield, MO, the third child of Edward (Ed) and Pauline Katzfey. Dan grew up in Springfield, where he graduated from Parkview High School in 1980 and then attended Missouri State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance in 1986.

Dan married Cynthia D. Beech (Cindy) on November 4, 1988. They started married life together in the KC area where Dan was a financial auditor for the State of MO and Cindy was an RN.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Frank Katzfey. Dan is survived by his wife, Cindy; older brother Michael and wife Vicky of the St. Louis area; sons Keaton Alexander and wife Megan and Cameron Anthony; daughter Caroline Paulina and fiancé, Riley; two grandchildren of proud parents Keaton and Megan, Copeland Victoria and Hudson Daniel and a niece and nephew, Beth and her brother Paul and his wife Kerry of the St. Louis area.

Dan had many friends he kept close to his heart. He spent most of his career in the Finance industry, working the past 14 years for Prime, Inc. Our family would like to express their gratitude to Dan's coworkers at Prime for their unwavering help during his illness and to the doctors and staff at Mercy Springfield.
