Daniel William Bettlach of Springfield, joined his father in heaven Sunday evening. At age 46, Dan ended his courageous battle with cancer on September 6, 2009. Dan was born October 19, 1962, to Jerry and Barbara Bettlach. A trusted friend, father, brother, son and family member, he will be greatly missed by all. Dan worked in his family's business, Harter House, and he enjoyed boating and just being with friends and family. He will always be remembered for his very generous and giving heart. We will sorely miss Dan's smile and fun spirit. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Bettlach. He is survived by ex-wives, Shelly Bettlach and Annie Bettlach and their children, Sean Bettlach, Jeni McGrath, Nick Bettlach and Valerie Bettlach; and granddaughter Haili Schubert. He is also survived by his mother, Barbara Bettlach; maternal grandmother, Hildred Adler; siblings, Michele Kauffman and husband, Craig, Jerry "Butch" Bettlach and wife, Lisa, Kathy Richards and husband, Randy, and brother Mike Bettlach. He is also survived by long time friend, Nola Esselman; as well as seven aunts and uncles, 21 first cousins and 12 nieces and nephews. Dan's life will be celebrated at a visitation to be held in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, in Springfield, Mo., on Wednesday, September 9, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 pm.
