Robert "Dan" Palen, 52, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 17, 2021 after suffering from an unexpected stroke. He was so many things to so many people-- a man full of vibrance and love for life.

Dan was born to Daniel and Sue Palen on February 26, 1968 in Springfield, Missouri. He graduated from Glendale High School in 1986 and went on to receive his Associates degree in music synthesis from Berklee College of Music in Boston. He was co-owner and managing director at Palen Music Center, where he led with integrity and kindness.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Lisa, his three children, Jessica, Peyton, and Barrett, his mother, Sue, his two brothers, Brett and Brad, and his granddaughter, Juniper.

Anyone who knew Dan knew how much he loved three things: God, his family, and music. He was a strong spiritual leader for those around him, a loving husband and father, a talented musician, and a true family man.

Dan approached each day with both intentionality and humor. He loved a good joke, and he knew how to draw out the best in everyone around him.

A visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 pm on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Friday, January 22, 2021 at Second Baptist Church in Springfield, MO, with a short graveside service to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
