Dale Francis Witte, 79, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 11, 2026 after being ill for several months.

He was the son of Carl J. Witte and Agnes (Weishaar) Witte of Wentzville, MO and Yorkville, IL. They preceded him in death, as did his only brother, Vernon Witte of Naperville, IL.

Dale leaves behind his wife, Stephanie, and daughters Pamela and Paula. He also leaves behind his sister-in-law, Joann, his nephews Chris, Darrell, Ronald, and his niece Janet, all of Illinois. He also leaves behind his brother-in-law David Brunda, David's wife Sharon and their son, Nicholas, of Columbia, MO.

Dale retired from the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame after 13 years of devoted service. He loved all sports, and played basketball when he was in high school, and coached his daughter's middle school basketball team.

Dale cherished his family, friends, and his Catholic faith.

We will all miss him greatly. A special thank you to all those who were so kind during his illness.
