Dale Leonard Waugh 96, Springfield, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2009. Dale was a native of Akron, Ohio and has resided in Springfield, for the last forty nine years. He was born in Akron Ohio on October 14, 1913 and was the son of William B. and Nina M. Waugh. He was preceded in death by his mother in 1933; his father in 1944; and his sister, Nina Aldene Folk in 1993. His wonderful wife of 56 years, "Billie" Marjorie Boyd also preceded him in death in 1996. He is survived by his son, Douglas Dale Waugh; two grandchildren, Wendy Waugh and Zach Waugh; and his daughter-in-law, Susan Waugh of Springfield. Dale was a graduate of the University of Akron, Akron, Ohio and was a registered Professional Engineer in Ohio and Missouri. He was employed by the Dayco Corporation for 48 years in various engineering and research positions. He was Director of Research and Development for over 35 years. He was a member of various technical organizations and was known in the rubber v-belt industry for his several dozen patents. He was a 32 Scottish Rite Mason and a member of United No. 5, AF & AM Springfield, Mo. He was a member of King's Way United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 13, 2009 in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel with Reverend Fred Royer officiating. Burial will follow in Hazelwood Cemetery.
