Dale Eugene Sayre, age 83, of Springfield, MO passed away November 30, 2013 in his home. He was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. Dale was a man of integrity, honesty and had a dry sense of humor. He graduated with two B.S. degrees from Colorado State University. His work ethic was impeccable as he began work for Ralston Purina. Dale started out as a dock foreman and worked his way up to Vice-President of Manufacturing. He retired to live in Springfield with his wife, Gloria. Their house became a center of family activity as the family grew in number. Many fond memories were captured and will be remembered forever. Dale loved animals and his faithful dog, Tucker, who remained by his side until the end. Dale gave a Thanksgiving prayer with a number of family members surrounding his bedside. His presence will truly be missed, as well as his source of advice sought by his family. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Edna Sayre. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Gloria, of Springfield; four children, Rick and Jean Kuppersmith of Bloomington, IL, Larry and Suzan Stafford of Bel Aire, Kansas, Mark and Judy Sayre-Burns of Springfield, MO, Brad and Jenn Sayre of O'Fallon, MO; 12 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. A private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Compassus, 1465 E. Primrose, Springfield, MO 65804.
