Obituary

Cynthia Kay Skidmore, age 62, was called home on May 14, 2025.  She was born on February 24, 1963 in Bentonville, Arkansas, the daughter of Bob and Delores Miller.

Cindy was united in marriage to Edward Mark Skidmore on July 6, 1991.  Cindy was raised in Mt. Vernon, Missouri where she graduated from MVHS in 1981.  She graduated from SMSU with a Bachelor's degree in Marketing and Management in 1985. She later resided in Nixa, Missouri with her husband and beloved cat, Timmy.

Cindy loved her family and friends fiercely.  She was a remarkable woman known for her strength, determination, and vibrant spirit.  She had a special unique relationship with each of her siblings, nieces and nephews.  She was affectionately known as Aunt Cindy or Ninny.

Her love for The Lord was shown through her daily life. She was a mighty prayer warrior. Cindy conducted her day-to-day life in fellowship with God, she served The Lord first and foremost.  Philippians 2:14 describes Cindy's life ~  Do everything without complaining or arguing.

Cindy had a soft, kind heart and always looked at the positive in every situation.  Throughout her life she was faced and overcame many challenges.  She was our angel on earth with her faith and compassion for all.

Cindy had a very successful business career working in administration in residential care facilities in Missouri as well as an event coordinator.

Cindy is survived by her husband, Mark and her much loved cat, Timmy, her sisters Vickie (Jeff) Gammill, Gina (Boudy) Kroamer, Christy (Phil) Lee and her brother Rob (Kerry) Miller, Sister in-laws, Patti (Wayne) Bateman, Sandy Baker, Suzette (Bill) West, several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncle and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Delores Miller, mother and father in-law Paul and Gladys Skidmore, brother-in-laws Ron Miller and Dave Baker, nieces Heather Kroamer and Amanda Rabb, grandparents Noel and Mildred Miller and Leonard and Doralee Stearns.

A special thanks goes to Cindy's neighbors Jim and Donna Hanafin for their kindness through the years.

Cindy's life will be celebrated on Saturday, June 14 ~ 2:00 – 3:30 at The Chapel at First Baptist Church, Mt. Vernon, Missouri.  A private family burial will be at a different time.
