Cindy Lenahan, age 60, of Springfield MO passed away Tuesday, August 5th, 2014 at Cox Medical Center following a brief battle with metastatic cancer of unknown origin. Cindy was born in Chicago Heights, Illinois on September 21st, 1953. She graduated from Crete-Monee High School, Class of 1971. She married her high school sweetheart Tom Lenahan and they enjoyed 42 years of marriage. They had a son Brian and a daughter Kim. Most recently, Cindy worked at Oxford Healthcare, providing assistance to patients in their homes. She was a natural caregiver, and her patients loved her and enjoyed her company. She was also a respected and appreciated employee. She is preceded in death by her father, mother and brother Al Freye. She is survived by her husband Tom Lenahan, sister Fran Carnes, children Brian Lenahan and Kim Mayer, grandchildren Gavin and Paige Lenahan and Trystan Mayer, as well as numerous extended family members. She spent her life selflessly loving and caring for others, particularly her grandchildren, on whom she lavished her time, gifts, and love. A Celebration of Cindy's Life will be held Sunday, August 31st, 2014 from 12:00-3:00 PM at the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel, located at 2431 N. Glenstone Ave., Springfield MO. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the March of Dimes at 5601 S Campbell, Springfield, MO 65810 would be appreciated.
