Corrine B. Young, 84, of Springfield passed away Monday, May 11, 2009 in her home. She was born in Etterville, Missouri on January 26, 1925. She graduated from Columbia Hickman High School in Columbia, Missouri. Corrine was married to Roy Trimble Young on June 22, 1946. After Roy's retirement from New York Life in Kansas City in 1983, they returned to Springfield. She was a member of King's Way United Methodist Church and a past president of P.E.O. Chapter B.G. She was preceded in death by her parents and five siblings. She is survived by her husband, Roy; two sons, Stephen R. Young (D.D.S.) and wife Pam of Springfield, Bruce E. Young of Overland Park, KS; one daughter, Debra L. Tolliver and husband Steve of Springfield; four grandchildren, Stephen Young Jr. and wife Laura, Sara Young, Eric Tolliver and Matt Tolliver. Memorial services will be held Friday, May 15, 2009 at 3 p.m. in King's Way United Methodist Church Meditation Chapel with Rev. Jon Spalding officiating under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. Burial will be held prior to the service at 2 p.m. in Hazelwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Springfield, 1500 S. Glenstone, Springfield, MO, 65804 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
