IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Connolly "Mike"
Reagan
December 17, 1952 – April 9, 2024
Connolly "Mike" Reagan, age 71, of Springfield, MO passed away April 9, in Springfield. He was born December 17, 1952, to Mary Virginia and John Dudley Reagan in Ft. Scott, KS. His oldest sister, Jackie, and her husband Bob often took care of little Mike like he was their own.
Mike attended St. Mary's Catholic school through 8th grade across the street from his house. He graduated from Ft. Scott High School in 1971. He worked at the Red Barn restaurant during his high school years, which taught him many excellent cooking skills. After graduating high school, he started working for the Frisco, then Burlington Northern Railroads out of Ft. Scott. After being transferred to Springfield, MO, the railroad became the Burlington Northern Santa Fe.
He married Malinda on February 2nd, 1974. They had two children, Brent in 1974 and Andrea in 1980. Their marriage lasted over 45 years. During that time, he became a grateful member of Alcoholics Anonymous and found a new sense of peace and happiness there. No matter how times were, he always took care to provide for his family.
Mike was an avid fisherman and enjoyed trips to Colorado with his railroad buddies. He liked to hunt quail and pheasant in Kansas, and we enjoyed eating them. As years went by his hobbies morphed into enjoying time with his grandkids, watching their school programs and sports activities. He loved to read. He was a history buff who had a vast knowledge of the Civil War as well as other historical and political eras. He enjoyed going to rock concerts and listening to the blues, especially Stevie Ray Vaughan, Joe Bonamassa, and Eric Clapton. He had a keen sense of humor yet was sometimes funny without meaning to be. He was quiet by nature. Some didn't know him as well as others; however, he left a lasting impression on those he met.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Margaret Butler, and brother-in-law, Bob Webster. He is survived by his son Brent (wife Natalie) Reagan, grandchildren, Kenna and Connolly; daughter, Andrea (husband Jake) Ryder, grandchildren, Luca and Andrew; spouse, Malinda Reagan; sister, Jacqueline Webster, Ft. Scott, KS, brother, Tom (Joann) Reagan, KC, MO, sister, Patricia (Bill) Spielbusch, St. Paul, KS; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 19, 2024, at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Matt Webster officiating.
