Concetta "Tina" Nuccitelli passed away peacefully in her home on September 21, 2010. Tina was born on July 2, 1942 in Rome, Italy to Pietro and Ines Orlandi. She grew up in Italy with her parents, an older brother, Peppe Orlandi, and lots of very close family and friends. After receiving her Bachelor's degree and entering the workforce in Rome, she began travelling around the world. One of her travels brought her to the United States where she met the love of her life and husband, Saul Nuccitelli. Together they began a new life in Springfield, MO in 1969 and raised a family and made innumerable lifelong friends through the years. Tina taught pre-school for many years and always had a passionate love and joy for all children. She also volunteered much of her time to many community organizations. Tina also loved to play cards and host friends and family for meals. While she never professed to be a good cook, everyone disagreed with her. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. They were the delights of her life and always made her smile. To quote her grandchildren, Alexander, 7, says "I love it when she calls me on the telephone and cooks for me." Joseph, 7, says "When I think of her I think - Nonna misses me." Benjamin, 4, says "She is good at not bending." Amelia, 2, loves when Nonna sings Farfallina and Questa e la Bella Piazza. Tina was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her brother, her son Saul and wife Suzanne and their children, Alexander, Joseph, Benjamin, and Amelia. She is also survived by many close relatives in CT, NY, CA, and Italy. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Saturday, September 25 at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, Springfield, MO. Funeral services will be held at 4pm on Sunday, in the funeral home, with Father John Brath officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the pre-school at St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, saintjosephozark.org or Isabel's House, Crisis Nursery of the Ozarks, isabelshouse.org.
