Clark Kent Pike, 69, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2014, at his residence in Springfield, Missouri. He was born, January 22, 1945 in Springfield, Missouri. He graduated from Central High School in 1963. He attended Missouri State University (formerly SMS-Southwest Missouri State.) He was very active in Tent Theater as well as Springfield Little Theater. He served active duty in the U.S. Navy, was in the Naval Reserve, and an active member of Vietnam Memorial Post 639. He was also a member of 40/8 Military Organization and IBPOE of W Elks. Clark was well known for his passion with cooking. He worked at the former Colonial Hotel in Springfield before going to the Navy. He then worked at Henry's Inn in Brooklyn Heights, New York for 15 years. After returning to Springfield, he worked for Buckingham's Bar-B-Que restaurant. He was preceded in death by his parents, David "Dempsey" Pike, Sr. and Glyndolyn L. Pike; his siblings, Dwayne L. Pike, Jean M. Pike, and James Willson. He leaves to cherish his memory two brothers, David D. Pike, Jr., and James L. Pike; two sisters, Jane M. Pike, and Jonell (Robert) Williams. Other survivors are special cousins, Orville "Duke" Winkfield, Juan Starks, Wayman (Butch) Pike, Jr., Effie Ann Pike Johnson, Pam Waters, Cynthia (The Bear) Duncan; a special son, Daniel Trout; and special friends, Shelly Hoskins, Charles Burton, Glenn Smith, and Ellen Gunter. He is also leaving to mourn his passing, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and a host of family and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Pitts Chapel United Methodist Church, 600 N. Benton Ave., Springfield, Missouri under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be Monday, July 21, 2014 in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield. Yeah Baby!!!
