Clarence "Sonny" Wurst passed away peacefully on July 2, 2018 at Mercy Hospital, Springfield.

Sonny is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Bobbie; his two children, Michael and Julie (Jon) and four grandchildren, Finn, Stella, Lucy and Oliver.

A small service will be held at the chapel at 1100 E. Montclair Street at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2018.

Sonny was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma on February 23, 1942.  He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force as well as a graduate of MSU.

Sonny enjoyed his classes at the Fitness Center with Bobbie, father and son time with Michael, a good game of cribbage with JC, a home improvement project with Julie, hanging out with friends at Panera, volunteering with "Friends of the Library", reading, tinkering around the house, and was always up for a good (or even a bad) beer.  He loved spending time with his grandchildren and got a kick out of their quirky antics.
