Larry (Clarence) A. Dixon left this world to be with his beloved wife Barbara on August 23. He touched many people in this world and left it a better place. He was born in Joplin, Mo on August 3rd, 1931. He was self made, having lost both parents early in his teens. He put himself through college at what is now Missouri State University, while working at KWTO and KYTV. Thus, was the beginning of a long and distinguished career in various forms of advertising and media, including KBUG radio, MD Publications, Meyer Communications as well originating Springfield Magazine! He was active in many civic activities including the American Cancer Society, the Republican party, Springfield School Board, and Central Christian Church. He served on many Boards including Hulston Cancer Center in Columbia and was a committee member for the development of Jordan Valley Park, among many others. He was a passionate and loving person who left his mark on many people and always left you smiling. Survivors include his son John Dixon, wife Andrea, children Nicole and Stephen. His daughters Diane Miller, husband Rob and daughter Serena and Lora Dixon and her son Ryan. He will truly be missed and is Loved. The visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 28, 6-8pm at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. The funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 29, 10am at Central Christian Church.
