IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Chris
Crosby
October 27, 1958 – February 4, 2017
Christopher "Chris" Glenn Crosby passed away Saturday, February 4th, 2017 at his home in Springfield, Missouri. On October 27th, 1958, Chris was born to Donald and Donna Crosby in Fort Smith, Arkansas. At a young age, he moved to Springfield with his family where he graduated from Kickapoo High School and attended Missouri State University. Prior to his death, he was employed with TransLand Trucking Company. He aspired to work as a semi truck driver for many years and finally achieved that goal in August, 2016. For the first time, he had found a job that he truly enjoyed. No matter how many days he was gone on the road, Chris talked to his family on a daily basis. He would often call from a southern State, never failing to mention how much he enjoyed the 70 degree weather there, knowing it was 20 degrees in Springfield. Oftentimes, he expressed just how much he loved the freedom he felt whenever he was on the road. Chris also enjoyed sketching and playing guitar. Both of these talents came naturally to him, and he continued to foster those talents for the majority of his life. He loved listening to music and watching movies, analyzing them, and unpacking deeper meanings to ponder long after they were over. Yet, above all other things Chris enjoyed, his family was the most important part of his life. The long conversations with his loved ones nurtured the deep connections they shared.
Chris is survived by his children Austen Musil (Marc), Barrett Crosby, Mitchell Crosby, and Chad Miller (Melissa), as well as his grandchildren Shawn Musil, Marcus Musil, Rebekah Miller and Joshua Miller. He is also survived by his mother Donna Crosby, his sisters Kerry Wilson (Larry), and Kim Westenberg (Robert), and his brother Craig Crosby (Heather). He is preceded in death by his father, Donald Crosby and his step father Jim Jameson, as well as his grandparents Gilbert and Aleene Wallace, and Glenn and Muriel Crosby.
At this time, per Chris' request, we are not having a funeral service. The family has requested that, in lieu of sending flowers, donations can be made in his name to ARC of the Ozarks in support of his nephews Oliver and Charlie Crosby. Donations can be made on their website, thearcoftheozarks.org . Thank you.
