Chester "Van" Elwood Garrison, age 83, passed away peacefully in his home in Springfield, Missouri on Tuesday, May 9, 2017.

Van was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  He was married to Roberta (Umphress) Garrison for 60 years.

Surviving are his loving wife, Roberta Garrison; his children, Tom (Lisa) Garrison, Roger (Ruth) Garrison, John Garrison, Todd (Sue) Garrison; their grandchildren, Nathaniel Garrison (Skye Flagle), Lindsay Garrison, Olivia Garrison, Annemarie Garrison, Kathleen (Adam) Godefroid, Michelle Garrison, Elizabeth Garrison, Michael Garrison, Lauren Garrison and Drew Garrison; great-grandchildren, Finn and Lestat Garrison.

Services: Visitation will be held Thursday May 18, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Schweitzer United Methodist Church in Springfield, Missouri.  Funeral service to immediately follow at 2:00 p.m., under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Schweitzer United Methodist Church.
