Chester G. Baldwin, 82, Springfield, passed away, Saturday, August 11, 2018 in Mercy Hospital.

He was born August 19, 1935 in Hinsdale, IL. Chester was a 20 year veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served during the Korean and Vietnam wars. He retired from GE in 1989.  He was a life-long Cubs fan and loved bowling and fishing.

Chester was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Baldwin; brothers, Jim and Joey Baldwin and his son, Michael Baldwin.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Baldwin; her daughters, Elizabeth Belt and Patti Hendrix; his son, Max  and wife Carolyn J. Baldwin; daughter-in-law, Debbie Baldwin; his sister, Deanna Drake and numerous grand and great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, August 15, 2018 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Graveside services with full military honors will be Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
