Charles William Cox, 60 years of age, of Monett, Missouri went to be with our Lord and Savior February 14, 2015 from complications of diabetes. He was born October 15, 1954 in Hannibal, Missouri to Martha Cumi and Ira William Cox Jr. Charles (or as most of us know him), Chuck, fell in love with his soul mate, Kathy Bauer, and married September 17, 1994. They were blessed with two children, Wesley and Shannon Cox. His wife, Kathy, preceded him in death in 2005. At the time of his death, survivors include his children of the home (Wesley and Shannon). Siblings include David and his wife Charlotte Cox of Nixa, MO; Cheryl Norvell of Louisiana, MO; Karen and her spouse Jeff Hill of Battlefield, MO; Ira W. and his wife Wanda Cox of Desloge, MO; Kathy and her spouse Bruce Pearl of Middletown, MO. Other survivors include Charles and Kitty Sparks of Clarksville, MO, Josh Bauer of Monett, MO as well as numerous extended families, cousins, nieces and nephews. Charles Cox provided emergency medical services as a paramedic for over 25 years to patients in Louisiana and Southwest Missouri areas. Employees of Pike County Memorial and Cox Medical Hospital facilities were fortunate to know him, his humor and skills. Prior to his service as a paramedic, Sgt. Charles Cox served in the military branch of the US Marine Corp from 1972-1981. Charles was an avid fisherman, hunter, and a family man. He loved to play games and was eager to share his knowledge of history, teasing all family members with his unique tricks and jokes. He was a hard worker by trade always volunteering to take an extra shift to help his coworkers. A graveside service is scheduled February 20, 2015 at 12:00 noon at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery located in Springfield, MO under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. A burial fund is established with Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home in lieu of flowers. Those who knew him will sadly miss Charles William Cox, a loving and kind heart.
