Obituary

Charles Steven "Steve" Jameson passed away peacefully on September 27, 2021. He was born December 17, 1951, to Charles Crump and Mary "Jean" Jameson (née House). He accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior when he was 5 or 6 years old.

Steve attended Elkland grade school and graduated from Marshfield High School in 1969. During high school, he worked part-time at Cedar Novelties in Marshfield. After high school, he attended SMS for half a year until an injury changed his plans. He worked at Zenith for 14 months until he was hired on at Frisco/Burlington Northern Railroad, where he worked for 35 years until retirement. He also studied electronics at VO Tech college.

On August 28, 1970, Steve married Joyce Lawson, from which a daughter, Stephanie, was born in January 1972. Both passed away in a car accident on August 11, 1973. On May 25, 1974, Steve married Phyllis Bumgarner. They were married for 22 years, from which a son, Paul, was born on April 5, 1979. On January 25, 1997, Steve married Carol Lusk at Second Baptist Church in Springfield, where they were both members.

Steve was involved in many ministries over the years as an AWANA leader, jail ministry, Good News Club, Stephen Ministry, several mission trips and Bridges for Youth ministry.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Doreena Jameson; wife, Joyce and daughter, Stephanie.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; son, Paul (Laura) Jameson; stepsons, Troy, Tadd and Toby (Jess) Lusk; grandsons, Caleb and Joseph; granddaughters, Ella Robinson and Marissa Chambers (Henry); four great-grandchildren; and sister, Patti Payton (Craig).

Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.  Funeral Services will be held at Second Baptist Church in Springfield at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 30, 2021, with burial to follow at St. Luke's Methodist Cemetery in Marshfield.
