Charles Arthur Raper of Springfield, Missouri, passed from this life into glory Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at his home. His name was highly respected by his peers both locally and nationally as a champion motorcycle racer and a wonderful person. Charlie was a long time employee of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Charlie was preceded in death by his father and mother, James A. and Vera Raper; grandparents, J. Arthur and Bonnie Raper; and two uncles, Max and Roger Raper. Charlie is survived by his loving wife Susan; three children, Charles A. Jr., Brad and wife Stacy; daughter, Missy; sister, Donna and husband Butch Freeman; two aunts and five cousins, Eithel Raper, Tom Raper, Mary Ann, Ronald, and Greg Smith, and Randy, Nell, and Alison Raper; many nieces and nephews, and many dear friends, including Ms. Peggy, Charlie's darling Boston Terrier. Charlie will be greatly missed by all. Memorial services will be held on Friday, July 31, 2015, at 3 pm at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
