Obituary

Charles W. Mitchell was born in Denison, Texas to John and Etta Mitchell on September 20 th (and it's nobody's business what year it was!) and he passed away at Marshfield Care Center on the 1 st of January, 2019.

He graduated from Denison High School and Austin College in Sherman, Texas.  During WWII he served in the Army Air Corp in the Pacific coding and decoding messages.

He married Sue Lefler on the 12 th of May, 1962 and had one son, Michael Charles Mitchell.  He retired from Kraft Foods after 35 years of service.

He was a member of Parkview Christian Church, Abou Ben Adhem Shrine, and the Elks Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue, his parents, two sisters and one brother and niece, Barbara.  Survivors include his son, Michael, and his wife, Michelle, two grandsons, Zachary and Jacob, of Marshfield, Missouri.  Two nephews, John and James Pickett, of Dallas and one niece, Linda Keener, of Pinehurst, NC, and numerous other nieces, nephews, and friends.

Arrangements are under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.  Visitation will be Tuesday, January 8 th from 6:00-8:00 pm in the funeral home.  Service and burial will be in the Missouri Veterans' Cemetery Wednesday, January 9 th at 9:00 am.
