Obituary

Charles Lamar Middleton, 72 of Springfield, Missouri passed away at 3:15 a.m. July 6, 2010 in St. John's Hospital. He graduated from West High School in Denver, Colorado and attended the University of Denver and the University of Arkansas. On December 27, 1958 Charles married June Sims in Mena, Arkansas. Charles worked as a salesman for Rozell Siding and Windows. He loved watching and playing different sports. He particularly enjoyed fishing and playing golf and watching M.S.U. Bears football and basketball. He was also a Kansas City Chiefs fan. Charles enjoyed coaching his son's fast-pitch softball team and he led them to several national titles. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Wesley and Mamie Jo Middleton. He is survived by his wife, June Middleton of Springfield, Mo; a daughter, Karrla Jo Morgan and husband Jim of Joplin, Mo; two sons, Charles Gregory Middleton of Los Angeles, Ca and Douglas Lamar Middleton and his wife Kristin of Blue Springs, Mo; a granddaughter, Kacy Morgan of Joplin, MO; three grandsons, Kyle Morgan of Joplin, Mo and Jake and Justin Middleton, both of Blue Springs, Mo; a brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Joann Middleton of Kingsley, Ks; a sister and brother-in-law Shirley and Bob Perkins of Atlanta, GA; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 9, 2010 in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. Burial will follow in Hazelwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
