Charles Curtis "Curt" McNay, Jr., 63, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2018. He was born on May 29, 1955 to Curt McNay, Sr. and Marie (Hoener) McNay.

Curt was preceded in death by both his parents, Curt, Sr. and Marie. He is survived by his daughters, Lauren Sawyer (Blake) and Molly Erickson (Trevor); his brother, Mark McNay (Jennifer); his grandchildren Hazel Sawyer, Sophia Sawyer, Calvin Sawyer, and Isaac Erickson; a nephew and niece, Riley McNay and Anna McNay; an uncle and aunt, Con and Norma McNay; and numerous cousins and friends.

Curt graduated from Glendale High School in 1973 and attended Southwest Missouri State. He worked in many arenas related to surveying and construction, and he was honored to spend the last 10 years working at the O'Reilly Automotive Corporate Office.

Curt was a devoted Kansas City Chiefs and St. Louis Cardinals fan, and he could often be found watching one game or another. He also enjoyed traveling to watch drag races and attend concerts.

Curt blossomed in his role as Grandpa Curt, attending soccer games and school activities for his grandchildren. His grandchildren provided him with a great deal of pride and entertainment, and it was clear they loved him as much as he loved them.

Curt passed away at Mercy Hospital, surrounded by his daughters, sons-in-law, and brother. His family would like to thank the 6A staff at Mercy for their compassionate care, as well as his long-time physician, Teresa Olsen, M.D., for her continued support.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 2, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Gorman Scharpf Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Gorman Scharpf, with burial following at Rivermonte Memorial Gardens and a Celebration of Life at the home of Mark and Jennifer McNay.
