Charles C. Huber was born April 28th, 1924 in St. Joseph, Missouri. He passed away after a long and heroic battle with Parkinson's on February 23rd, 2013 at the age of 88. He was preceded in death by parents Charlie and Marie Huber and his brother Bill Huber and sister Ellen Conroy. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Sue Tanner Huber, his daughters Susan Dunville Powell and husband Ed Powell; Laura Marshall Parsons and husband Ed Parsons; and Jean Ellen Huber. He is also survived by his three grandchildren Rachael Dunville, Nathan Dunville, and Aaron Marshall and his wife Maryia Halavach, as well as a host of extended family members and friends. Chuck graduated from Central High School in St. Joseph, Missouri. He was a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army Air Corps and served as a B-17 pilot in World War II. At the age of 20, he was shot down over Germany and remained a POW until the end of the war. Chuck attended the University of Missouri where he was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. He received his Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering before going on to work with Ralston Purina Company for 38 years, retiring in 1987. Chuck and Sue moved to Springfield, Missouri, in 1987 where they were the "not-so-silent partners" in Nearly Famous Deli and Pasta House with their daughter Susan. Chuck was an avid golfer and loyal fan of the Missouri Tigers and St. Louis Cardinals. He loved a good joke and making people laugh. He had a passion for music and enjoyed singing and dancing with his beloved wife Sue. He was a loving and supportive husband, father, and grandfather who cared deeply for his family and his country. He will be remembered for his integrity and wit, and will be missed by all who knew him. Memorial services will be Monday, February 25, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in Gorman- Scharpf Brentwood Chapel with visitation to follow. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Michael J.
