Charles "Chuck" Beach, 89 of Springfield passed away at 10:15 am Thursday, July 27, 2017 in Springfield.

Chuck was a lifelong resident of Springfield, Missouri.  He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle.  He was a great friend to all who knew him.

Chuck wore many hats throughout his long life.  First and foremost he was a highly recognized jazz percussionist.  He was a television engineer at KOLR channel 10 and also an award winning photographer.  For the last 35 years he was a piano technician in and around the Springfield area including Missouri State University and Hammons Center for the Performing Arts.  Over the past 20 years he was a computer programmer for the Friends of the Springfield-Greene County Library.

Chuck had a deep love of music, especially jazz, and cultivated friendships throughout the jazz world.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Walter and Virginia Susan Penland Beach.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Joyce Tinnin Beach of the home; a son, Dr. Andrew Beach of Kennett, MO; granddaughters, Jordan McQuay of Las Vegas, NV, Olivia Beach  and Sophia Beach of Annapolis, Maryland; great-granddaughter, Amelia McQuay; brother-in-law, Ralph Tinnin of Overland Park, KS; nephews, John and David Tinnin, and Ryan Galyean; and nieces, Kay Galyean-Harmsen, Emily Galyean-Anderson and Lisa Tinnin-Jones.

Memorial services will be 11:00 am Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel with the Reverend Bill Marler officiating.  Visitation will be at 10:30 am until service time.
