Obituary

Charles E. Vardiman "Chuck", 72, passed away at home in the morning of July 30, 2021. Due to the ongoing pandemic, the family will not hold an in-person funeral service at this time. A celebration of life gathering will be announced in the future.

Born September 15, 1948, in Marshall, MO, Chuck was the son of the late John Wesley Vardiman and Luetta Doris Ballard Vardiman. Chuck served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War.  On November 11, 1973, he married Jane E. Butler who survives of the home.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 639, Springfield MO and an avid Harley Davidson owner and rider.

In addition to his wife, Jane "Jeb" of Fair Grove, MO, Chuck is survived by three nieces, Johnené Vardiman-Ditmanson (Ethan) of Las Cruces, NM, Sarah Miser (Beau) of Platte City, MO, and Olivia Butler of Madison, WI; two nephews, Phillip (Bethany) of Manhattan, KS and Patrick Butler (Maddy) of Lee Summit, MO; a sister, Mary Towns of San Jose, CA; as well as three grandnieces, Rylie and Hailey Vardiman and Olivia Miser and one grandnephew Easton Miser.

Chuck was preceded in death by his father and mother, John and Luetta Vardiman; his brother John W. "Bill" Vardiman, his mother-in-law, Joyce Butler, his father-in-law, Tom Butler, his brother-in-law Tommy Butler, two nephews, Lon and Don Vardiman, and his grandnephew, Gauge Miser.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Legion Post 639, Springfield, MO.
