Charles Melton Doan, Sr., 86, Ozark, passed away with his family by his side, Thursday, July 16, 2026 in his home.  He was born March 28, 1940 in Cairo, Illinois, the son of James Aaron Doan and Cora Bernice (Dunavin) Doan. He graduated from San Jose State University and was a U.S. Amry Veteran. Charles loved art, was a jewelry maker and loved wood working. Charles loved to eat out, was always meticulously dressed and was an avid Notre Dame Football fan. Most of all, Charles loved the Lord and his family. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Joe Anne Mayo and Earla May Doan and a brother, David Doan.

Charles is survived by his loving wife, Connie Jo Doan; daughter and her husband, Christy Lin Leveritt and Sam; son and his wife, Charles Melton Doan, Jr. and Diana; granddaughter, Alexis Leveritt; and grandson, Braxton Leveritt.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, July 20, 2026 in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Private burial will be at a later date in Spokane, Washington. In lieu of flowers, donations in Charles name may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
