Charles Edward Brand, a retired railroad employee and Korean veteran, died on August 1, 2015 in Springfield, MO. He was born in Cape Girardeau, MO on July 25, 1928, the son of Louis Henry Edward Brand and his wife, Helen Marguerite, nee Litzelfelner. He was married to Dorothy Elizabeth Wehrman on September 20, 1952 in Lockwood, MO. He is survived by his daughter, Carol of Springfield; four sons and their wives, Karl and Colleen Brand of Missouri City, TX; Paul and Connie Brand of Shawnee, KS; Fredrick and Shawn Brand of Springfield; and Curt and Alison Brand of Springfield; and ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, Joseph Brand and wife Michelle and children, Caroline, Jack and William of St. Peters, MO; Philip Brand and wife Kristina and daughter Hannah of Brooklyn, NY; Erica Brand of Shawnee, KS; Laura French and husband Greg of Springfield; Emily and Scott Brand of Springfield; and Olivia, William, Emma and Thomas Brand of Springfield. Charles is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Springfield. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Reverend William Marler and the Reverend Nicholas Hagerman officiating, under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Lockwood, MO. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
