Chandler Chase Bosworth, 80, of Springfield, MO passed away at 11:19 a.m. on Sunday, April 22, 2012 in Mercy Hospital, Springfield. He was born to George Henry Bosworth and Ethyl Mae Chase Bosworth on November 9th, 1931 in Swansea, Massachusetts. He married LouElla Roderick on November 10, 1951. She preceded him in death along with his sisters, Madelyn Bussey and Dorothy Ahl and his brother, George Bosworth, Jr. While in the Air Force, Chan was stationed at Lowry Air Force Base in Denver, Colorado, where he married LouElla and started a 58-year adventure. After serving in the Air Force he worked as a mechanical draftsman for most of his working years. During those years he also enjoyed family camping and travel, fishing, art, RVing, and motorcycling. Chan and LouElla covered much of the United States on two wheels. They relocated to Springfield in 1999 to enjoy retirement, including more travel and family. In his later years, he further developed his art and new friendships. He was known for his friendly spirit, sense of humor, responsibility, recycling efforts and adventuresome attitude. Chandler is survived by his son Mark Bosworth and wife Donna; two daughters, Karyn (Sue) Myers and her husband Jeffrey and Brooke Blue and her husband David,; nine grandchildren, Kathryn and Megan Myers, Carisa and Julie Bosworth, Daniel Bosworth and his wife Melissa, Bonnie McDonald, Aspen Meade and her husband Joseph, Jennifer Hastings and her husband Jason, and Tiffany Wasserkrug; thirteen great-grandchildren, Creek Rogers, Jordan, Rae'Anna, Lili, Liam and Elijah Bosworth, Parker and Ian Blue, Shelby Hastings, Carson, McKenna, and Brooklynne Meade, and Kenzley Kohleppel. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 23, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, 1947 East Seminole, Springfield, Missouri. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Hickory Ridge Baptist Church in Upton, Missouri with Pastor David Roderick officiating, under the care of Evans Funeral Home of Houston, Missouri. Visitation at the church at 1:30, Memorial Service at 2:30 with Inurnment to follow at Hickory Ridge Cemetery. It's requested that any donations be directed to the South Side Senior Center, 2215 S. Fremont, Springfield, Missouri or the American Cancer Society.
