Catherine Banta Lindstrom, daughter of Charles and Margaret Banta, was born on October 2, 1946, and departed this life February 20, 2013. She married Roger Lindstrom on August 26, 1967, and their union was blessed with two wonderful children, Gregory Ellis and Margaret Creden. They welcomed daughter-in-law Beth Jones into the family in 2002 and rejoiced in the wonder of their grandchildren Kellen Ellis and Peyton Elisabeth. Cathy graduated from the University of Missouri with a B.S. in Education. She was a member of Delta Gamma Fraternity. She later earned her library science certification from Southwest Missouri State University. She assisted in helping establish the elementary libraries in the Springfield R12 school system and spent many years as an active board member of the Springfield Girls' Club and Boy's and Girl's Clubs of America. She served on the University of Missouri Greater Ozarks Alumni Board. She was an active member of Christ Episcopal Church where she was a Stephen Minister. Cathy was preceded in death by her father, Charles Banta and her grandparents. She is survived by her husband, Roger; daughter Meg; son Greg and his wife Beth; grandchildren Kellen and Peyton; mother Margaret Banta; sister Barbara Bell and husband Barry; brother Charles Banta, Jr.; brother-in-law Richard Lindstrom and wife Kim; precious nieces and nephews Amy, Allison, Lindsay, Tessa, Chase, Richard, and Harper. Funeral services will be at 11:00AM Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Christ Episcopal Church with the Reverend Kenneth L. Chumbley officiating. Private burial will be in Maple Park Cemetery.
