Cassandra "Casey" Marie McCann of Springfield, Missouri passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021. She was 33.

Casey was a special kind of soul who loved her family deeply and was a daddy's girl through and through. She was well-known for her love of music, animals, and her fierce loyalty for all those she loved. Casey had the kind of personality that just made you want to be around her. She was always making friends wherever she was and if you were lucky she would entertain you with her guitar and one of the many songs she had written. Growing up, Casey loved spending her time riding horses, hanging with friends, learning to play music and taking family road trip vacations - which included lots of loud singing to the Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel and other greats that her mom and dad introduced her to.

While her soul was special it was also troubled. Casey would never want her addiction to define her, she was so much more than that to so many people. Her kind heart, artistic talents and witty humor were the things she would want, and will be remembered for.

Casey was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Emily and John Allan and her paternal grandfather Stan McCann. Casey is survived by her parents, Julie and Edward McCann, two sisters, Jessica Brothers with husband Cabot and daughter Ruby and Addie Sherman with husband Jeremy, grandmother, Marie McCann and an actual boatload of aunts, uncles and cousins who truly meant the world to her.

The family will host a private celebration of life at a later date.
