Carolyn Ann Zell, 82, Springfield, went home Friday, August 2, 2024 from Quail Creek Center in Springfield, Missouri.  She was born February 18, 1942, at the Baptist Hospital in Springfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Emil and Deema Eve (Johnson) Zell and a 10-year-old younger sister, Mary Ellen.

Carolyn grew up on a dairy farm (now Century Farm) in Billings, Missouri.  She attended High School in Billings and then graduated from SMS (Missouri State) University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology and pursued a Master's degree in Laboratory Administration from Drury University. She graduated from St. John's (Mercy) School of Medical Technology and worked in that hospital laboratory for 35 years, the majority of that time as Administrative Director.

Carolyn is survived by a younger brother, Fredrick (Fred) Zell and his wife, Diane, who now own the Century Farm in Billings. She leaves behind two nieces, Karen Frazier and husband, Zack, and Kathryn Murray and husband, Junior; two great-nieces, Kristen Chilson and Marisa Frazier; two great-nephews, Coleman and Carter Murray; her longtime best friend and caregiver, Edwina Cook; and several cousins and countless friends.

Carolyn was a long-time member of Schweitzer Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir more than 30 years. She lived her faith and set an example for everyone who knew her.

Carolyn was an animal lover and particularly loved her dogs.

Carolyn's friendship and counsel will be missed by all.

Visitation will be held from 10-11:00 am Saturday, August 10, 2024 in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home with a service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Evangelical Cemetery, Billings, MO.
