Carolyn Sue "Susie" Thornton, age 65, of Willard, MO passed away early Saturday morning, March 21, 2015. She was born in Phillipsburg, MO April 23, 1949. Carolyn was a devoted wife, mother and sister who enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. She married the love of her life, Jim, on May 25, 1967 in Ozark, MO. Carolyn retired from Lily Tulip after 28 years and worked part-time for Willard High School. Carolyn was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Moore. She is survived by husband, Jim Thornton of Willard, MO; son, Steven James and his wife Angie, Willard, MO; daughter, Lori Ann and her husband Mike, Springfield, MO; sisters, Judy Truitt, Lebanon, MO and Dottie Kitch, Defuniak, FL; brother, Jack Moore, Forsythe, MO; grandsons, Wesley and Michael and great-grandson, Cruz, whom she loved immensely. Memorial visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday, March 25, 2015 in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
