Carolea Albers
Morris
November 6, 1942 – February 4, 2022
Carolea Kae Albers Morris, 79, Springfield, passed away Friday, February 4, 2022 in her home. She was born in Burwell, Nebraska to Richard and Myra Albers. Carolea graduated from Greenfield High School, attended Burge School of Nursing and received a Master's Degree in Nursing Administration from Drury College.
She worked first at Burge Protestant Hospital and then Cox Medical Center for a total of 34 years, ending as a Director of Nursing. Carolea would often go to the nursery and assist other nurses by holding and feeding babies to relieve stress.
She was active in many organizations, including PEO, Meals on Wheels, Shriner Ladies Auxiliary and her King's Way UMC Sunday School Class which she loved dearly.
In 1995 Carolea married Herman "Legs" Morris. Together they traveled to all 50 states and many countries overseas.
She was attentive to each of her siblings and especially to her nieces and nephews. She kept in touch with life long friends and her extended family. She was the fourth oldest of 50 first cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Legs Morris and nephew, Chance Harp.
She is survived by five siblings, Erwin (Lucinda) Albers, Vicky (David) Dean, Becky (John) Richter, Darrell Albers (Joy Tate) and June (JC) Harp; five nieces, seven nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family would like to thank all of Carolea's friends and family for their thoughts and prayers.
We would also like to thank all of her caregivers from Home Sweet Homecare.
Visitation will be held from 1-2:00 p.m. Friday, February 11, 2022 at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home with a service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Hazelwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carolea's name may be made to King's Way United Methodist Church, 2401 South Lone Pine Avenue, Springfield, MO 65804.
