Carol Ann Martin, 72, Springfield, passed away at 3:00 a.m. Sunday, February 14, 2010 in her home. Carol owned the Carol Martin Property Management Company for the last 35 years. Carol was a true trail blazer for women in the early 1960's beginning her career as a stockbroker before becoming a real estate broker. She single handedly raised her two children in the historic Rountree neighborhood. Carol loved her little dog Pierre who never left her side and sadly perished in the fire with her. She loved her family, friends, and NASCAR and a cold Miller Light. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert G. and Marie Cain Rogers. Carol is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Marie Martin, Roach, Missouri; and a son, Roger P. Martin. Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, February 19, 2010 in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Southwest Missouri Humane Society.
