Carol Pfander Henderson passed away July 29, 2010, in Kansas City after a long battle with cancer. Carol was a gifted actor who worked in theater and television for most of her adult life. She was one of the early members of the Missouri Repertory Theatre founded by Dr. Patricia McIlrath. In 1969, Carol moved to New York and was very successful in commercials and voiceover work. She returned to Kansas City in 1995 and continued doing voice-over work. She leaves her daughter, Abigail Hope Henderson, of Kansas City; a sister, Connie Pfander, of New York City; a brother, Bruce Pfander, of Vermont; a niece and four nephews, as well as many loving friends. She was predeceased by her husband, James Franklin Henderson, of Bloomfield Hills, Mich.; her parents, Claudia Swinford Pfander and Charles Collier Pfander; and her sister, Catherine Pfander Leverington, of Springfield, Missouri. Carol's struggle with her illness was long and often difficult but she handled it with extraordinary courage and, above all, with grace. She was a beautiful and talented person and she will be forever missed by all who loved her. Although she is no longer with us, she lives in our memories and in our hearts. A memorial celebration of Carol's life will be held on Monday morning, August 2, in the Community Christian Church, 4601 Main St., Kansas City, Mo., at 10 a.m. A Chapel Service will be held in the Gorman Sharpf Funeral Home, 1947 E.
