Carol A. Hauswirth was born on August 30, 1943 in St. Louis, Missouri. Carol passed away at Mercy Hospital on Sunday July 8th surrounded by loved ones. Carol is preceded in death by her parents Randy and Illona Whyte.

Carol married John Hauswirth of St. Louis, November 23, 1963. They lived in St. Louis until moving to Springfield in 1977. Carol volunteered at Springfield Community Hospital for over 10 years. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved to spend time with her family.

Carol is survived by her husband John, their two children, Kathy Hicks and husband Larry, and Tom Hauswirth and wife Malissa; 3 grandchildren, Danielle and Murray Moss, Dalton and Hannah Hicks, and Luke Hauswirth; her brother Nick and Terri Whyte, and her sister Joan Quigley; and 3 great grandchildren Aubrey, Harrison, and Owen. And many other nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

Memorial Mass for Carol will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Thomas Kiefer celebrant.  Visitation will be from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 11, at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
