Obituary

Carol Jean Hagerman (McClellan) McIntyre, age 74, of Bradenton, FL., passed away Thursday, September 11, 2014 at Lakewood Ranch Hospital. She was born on March 12, 1940, in Springfield, Mo., to Louis and Juanita 'Pat' Hagerman. She resided in Springfield, Mo., Fair Grove, Mo., Mooresville, In., and was a resident at Braden Castle Senior Community, Bradenton Fl., for over 20 years. She attended Central High School and Parkview High School where she was a member of the Lassie Drum Core and an exchange student to Germany with A.F.S. She graduated in 1958. Carol was a secretary for the Frisco Railroad before marrying David McClellan and raising her two children Marcie and Chris. She earned a realtor's license but spent most of her time being a supportive and devoted mom and wife. She was active in her church, Manatee United Methodist Church, and shared her love of Jesus with all who knew her. Carol loved reading and gardening, especially flowers, and embraced the "salt life" by learning to snorkel in the ocean and collecting many beautiful shells. She loved her family and was especially proud of her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed. We want to offer a special thank you to her caregiver and friend, Elizabeth Albritton, for all her time and love, and to her church family for all their love and support. She is preceded in death by her husband Milton McIntyre. She is survived by her sister and brother in-law Linda (Hagerman) and Tom Hagemann of St. Louis, Mo, their children Kimberly, Elizabeth 'Blake', and Daniel, and their families; brother Grant Hagerman of Springfield, Mo.; son and daughter-in-law Chris and Karen McClellan of Bradenton, Fl., daughter and son in-law Marcie (McClellan) and Tony Renyer of Goddard, KS., and their six children and two son in-laws: Mandy (Renyer) and Jordan Leaming, Tim Renyer, Renay Renyer, Anna (Renyer) and Jacob Mullet, Paul Renyer, and Bethany Renyer; her step- daughters Lynn (McIntyre) Amos, Pam Day, and Kay Newton, all of Indiana, and their families. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 20, at 10 am at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 9 am until the time of service. Interment will follow at Hazelwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Manatee United Methodist Church, 315 15th Street East, Bradenton, FL 34208.
