Carol C. Farris, 94 of Nixa passed away at 9:41 am Friday, July 17, 2015 in her daughter Jennifer Beers home in Nixa. Carol Cardwell Johnson was born August 23, 1920 on a small farm near Bolivar, Missouri. Carol's family moved to Springfield when she was 4. She was one of seven children and attended Rountree Elementary, Jarrett Jr. High and graduated from Central High School in 1939. Carol Johnson became Mrs. John B. Farris December 15, 1942 and was a homemaker, mother of four children and artist. John and Carol were happily married until John's death in 1991. She was a member of Southeast Bible Chapel in Springfield. She received Christ as her Savior at the age of 14 there and faithfully attended for 80 years. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by son, John Lawrence Farris. Carol is survived by three daughters, Paula and husband, Bill Reed, Jennifer and husband, Dale Beers all of Nixa, and Julie Farris of Savannah, GA; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 3pm in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel with Shannon Bollinger officiating. Family burial will be in Springfield National Cemetery. Visitation will be at 2 pm until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Southeast Bible Chapel, 1051 S. Crutcher Street, Springfield, MO 65807 for missions.
