Obituary

Carol V. (Dunn) Dixon passed away Nov. 6, 2018 at the age of 91. She was born Jan. 10, 1927 in Independence, Kansas to Vance H. and Gracia L. Dunn. Carol attended schools in her hometown and Kansas University (Lawrence).

She was a lifelong member of the First Christian Church in Independence. A long-time Committeewoman on the Greene County Republican Central Committee, she held various offices in her Legislative District and had actively and enthusiastically participated in Republican politics. Carol and Bill owned and operated several businesses over the years on Commercial Street, including A&A Pawn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 35 years, William J. and her three sisters, Thelma Wright, Patricia Cornell and Diana Tindle.

Carol is survived by her daughter Laura, son-in-law Guy McConnell, five nieces and one nephew.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 9, 2018 at Maple Park Cemetery in Springfield, under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Convoy of Hope, 330 S. Patterson, Springfield, MO 65802.
